Sensitive Third Party Data

Google

When you link a Google Account, you can consent to give us access to your email addresses, phone numbers, and contacts. Your contacts data is not stored. We take a hash of your contact’s email addresses and phone numbers, and compare this with the email addresses and phone numbers that our registered users have submitted and verified for themselves. When there is a mutual match, we will form a connection.

Humans are not allowed to read your Google account data (your email addresses and phone numbers only. We only store hashes of the email addresses and phone numbers of your contacts) unless necessary for security purposes (for example, investigating a bug or abuse), if it is necessary to comply with applicable law, or with your explicit affirmative agreement to view specific data.

Security Measures

We implement multiple layers of security to protect your Google account data:

  • Encryption: All Google user data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption.
  • Access Controls: Google data access is restricted to authorized systems only, with no human access except for security investigations, legal compliance, or with your explicit consent.
  • Data Minimization: We only access the minimum Google data necessary for our matching functionality (email addresses, phone numbers, hashed email addresses and phone numbers of contacts).
  • Secure Infrastructure: Google data is processed on secure servers with regular security assessments and updates.

LinkedIn

When you link a LinkedIn account, you consent to give us access to your LinkedIn contacts. Your contacts data is not stored, only the hashes of their LinkedIn IDs are stored. We take a hash of their LinkedIn ID and compare this with the hashes of the LinkedIn IDs of users who are registered with us. When there is a mutual match, we will form a connection.

How long we keep information

General Data Retention: We store your personal information for a period of time that is consistent with our business purposes - specifically, to provide our matchmaking services and maintain your account functionality.

Account Data: We retain your personal information for the length of time needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Upon account deactivation, we retain your information for one additional month to allow for account recovery, after which all account information is permanently deleted.

Automated Deletion: When the data retention period expires for a given type of data, we automatically delete or destroy it using secure deletion methods.

User-Requested Deletion: You may request immediate deletion of your data by contacting us at contact@affinitymatch.org or using your account settings. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Legal Requirements: In some cases, we may need to retain certain information for longer periods to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
